Leaping towards autonomy

Gavin peeled his own tangerine the other day. So I figured his older brothers could do it too. It's our favorite new snack. Sometimes when I'm brave, all three boys get a big boy cup too. Gone is the highchair at the dining room table. Gone is the crib that my 3 babies slept in for the last 5 years. They all walk on their own two feet and I walk with my hands free, or maybe carrying a cup of coffee. It's awesome!

Here are the bunkbeds all refinished. It's chore making them. But they fit nicely, and the boys love them. Vincent insists it's not a bed, it's a bunk. He makes his bed first thing almost every day. The first few weeks he wouldn't even sleep under his covers because he didn't want to mess up his bunk. We tuck him in all cozy and then check on him after everyone fell asleep. He would be laying on top of his comforter with his bed all neatly made.
Gavin's brothers went camping with their dad last weekend. This meant Gavin could play alone, without someone coming along and dumping out whatever he was working on. He piled leaves into his shovel and then into the tractor for a good hour. He seemed to really enjoy some rare alone time.

That's really cute about Vincent and his bunk. Love the picture of Gavin in the cowboy boots. No more booster seats? Wow. Impressive.

I love it - love them all!!! They are all getting so big so fast. Love the tangerines also. We had a friend bring a huge bag of them over the other day and Darian peeled about 9 in a row and just kept eating them. LOVE their room! :)
