Mall Shots

This was a first for our family...being in a "studio". The boys were great even though it was an hour into their nap time. Gavin crawled right to the photographer every time I sat him down. I was so sweaty by the end of our 10 minute session from wrestling him back with his brothers. He's surfing in the first picture. Whatever the photographer told Daniel to do, Vincent did immediately (never mind that she wanted Vincent to do something different. He wanted to do just what his big brother was doing. Daniel was hamming it up the whole time.
As we were walking into church last week, we noticed both boy's jeans were about 2 inches too short. So they both moved up a size. I guess that happens over the summer when everyone's in shorts everyday. Even if they do get pants on, they usually don't wear shoes, so the length shortage goes unnoticed. So now we've got to collect a 4T wardrobe collection.
Gavin had his 9 month check-up last week. He weighed in at 17lb, 6oz which we're told is 7th percentile. He's more active than the average 9 month old I guess, but we've been trying to stuff him full of protein all week. He's eating great, and finally decided to start eating baby food and not just self feed finger foods. He doesn't look scrauny, so we're a bit surprised that he's so low on the charts. We'll go back for another weigh-in in a few weeks to make sure he's gaining since he dropped weight since the last time he got weighed in the beginning of August.

Old friends

Jordan took this while Vincent was visiting maggie the other day. Those two get along so well together.
We got to see our old friends, Scott & Robin as they drove through on a road trip this week. I used to babysit Hannah when she was a baby, now she's got teeth missing. Last time we saw them, Daniel was a baby so it was fun to catch up.

Wagon Ride

We met some new friends in the neighborhood the other day, so we walked to their house and played for awhile. This is how the boys got there and back. They were so cooperative and sweet with each other. Gavin got sleepy on the way home and rested right there on Vincent, with heavy eyelids the whole way home.

Camping

This was the last five minutes of our two night camping trip. We were all a little fried at this point on our way to load up the boat.
Vincent actually fell asleep about 2 minutes after this shot. He looked like a little shipwreck survivor lost at sea sleeping while being towed.
Classic Daniel
Classic Vincent

Our drive home...the doggie, the sippy cup, the treasure
We brought 32 flies home with us in the van, see Vincent's cheek.
It was a fun camping trip, but I'm looking forward to the boys being older, sleeping better, learning how to swim. The boys are at a great age right now, all so young. But George and I are barely surviving it.
We're pretty consistent with naptime in our house. The boys don't cope well with life if they miss that part of their day. I was thinking as I sat on a bench one afternoon this weekend that it's been almost four years since I've been able to just go enjoy afternoons. It's always naptime or grumpy boys. I've got about four more years of this and then we'll be having fun together all day...right?

Vincent's 1st haircut

The boys before their haircuts
Daniel had a tan line on his forehead from camping last weekend. His new haircut shows his bright white head.

Being a good sport

The new do
We got to go camping this past weekend with my family. It was a lot of fun and we had perfect weather. Daniel spent most of his waking hours in the water, he loved swimming. Vincent was a big fan of the jet ski. Gavin hung out with his cousin, Dominic in the pack n' play.

Gavin's first spaghetti dinner
Gavin is now at that age where he goes under the dining room table to find snacks whenever he's hungry. The floor usually gets swept twice daily, which is nowhere near enough.
