Costco Tailgate Party

After our trip to Costco, we picked up some Polish Sausages. Mmmmm. There wasn't much room inside, so we had a tailgate party in the middle of a busy parking lot. It was fun, and cold. I love hanging with my boys.

Mother's Day Tea

Daniel's preschool teachers and the students put on a lovely Mother's Day Tea on Thursday. When it was time to begin, Daniel came outside the class where all of us mother's waited, he took me by the hand and led me to our seats where the cute little name tags were. We sat down and he waited patiently with his hands in his lap telling me we have to wait for everyone to sit down before we can eat. This was followed by the kids serving us our tea or lemonade. There was only one spill during this brave commotion that I know of.

Daniel gave me a special gift; a canvas bag with a drawing of him and me on it. There was also a card with his hand print on it and a poem inside which totally made me cry. He was such a sweet little gentleman. At the end, all the kids sang a couple songs that they had been practicing for months and months. I was impressed with Daniel's ability to keep a secret in all this. He told me a couple times that he made me a present, but it was a secret. So cute. He was so proud.

Miss Sharon and Miss Grace have been wonderful teachers this year. We are thankful for all of their hard work and look forward to having them as Vincent's teachers next year.

Hiking Adventure

Today we went on a hike. We started out on a trail, went over a couple bridges, looped around. Daniel got injured climbing a tree so we looked for a shortcut back. Down into the ravine... across the raging river, through the poison oak, cutting our own trail we made it home. What an adventure!

What's a butfull?

When we had dinner at Kia & Ryan's last week, Daniel was experimenting with new vernacular. I love how his brain works and how he figures out new stuff. He was using the restroom and I took out a pack of toilet paper to refill.

He says "wow, that's a butfull of toilet paper!"
"What" I say
He repeats "That's a butfull of toilet paper."
I have him repeat this phrase once again, a little shocked at what he's saying.

Apparently, he heard someone saying "that's a butt load" of something and decided to incorporate this term into his vocabulary, though he was slightly off on the terminology. I stayed calm and instead of correcting him, I explained that this wasn't a nice way to talk. Once again holding in the laughter.

Lunch at Kathy's

We enjoyed an afternoon with Kathy & Tonya and a bunch of kids the other day. The fountain kept everyone occupied for a good long time.

Getting ready for Kindergarten

Stiff as a board, Daniel was a very cooperative dental patient. He had to get his teeth checked prior to starting Kindergarten.
