Daniel's First Day of Preschool

School started for us today. Daniel was so excited, which was really great after telling us he was "too young to go to school" at breakfast. He changed his mind though, and was super excited about preschool by the time breakfast ended.
A little nervous mixed with a lot of excitement.

This was Daniel as we walked out after dropping him off the first day, it was great. Thankfully no tears or worry. He just waived goodbye with a smile. So sweet.

After we dropped Daniel off for his first day of preschool, Gavin, Vincent and I went to visit the doctor. It was the second sleepless night in a row. Gavin caught a cough from Vincent which turned into a pretty serious breathing problem. This is the second time he's had trouble breathing like this. After the first, we got an inhaler in case it happened again. The inhaler wasn't working super good.
Gavin has asthma. I don't know how often or for how long we'll have to deal with it. I haven't done any research on the subject yet. Some kids grow out of it by age six while others have asthma for life. For now, we've got two medications to give him that have helped his breathing a lot today. He's still a little constricted, but at the moment he's yelling from his bed just fine. Hopefully we won't have to get up for a 15 minute nebulizer session too many times tonight. We all could use some sleep.
George has a walking cast for his broken leg and has still been walking around on it. The orthopedic specialist couldn't believe he had been walking on it for two weeks. He's a tough guy.

YAY for Daniel!! YaY for Mommy!!
Kaitlyn has childhood asthma as well. We were able to stop all the meds since the spring and I am hoping she doesn't need it through the winter......hoping she has already grown out of it!
