There was a lot of geothermal activity at Mt. Lassen. This boiling pit of mud smelled like rotten eggs. It was awesome.
We attempted a 3 mile hike with our 2,4 & 6 year olds. They did awesome until the Doritos they were munching on ran out. We turned back about halfway to our destination. It was a beautiful hike and I was impressed with how far we went. Someday we'll hike the whole John Muir Trail. But right now, it's pretty difficult walking the 800 yards to school every morning.
